EVERY KID DESERVES A WEEK IN THE MOUNTAINS
From El Paso and Juárez to Las Cruces and the rural communities of southern New Mexico and west Texas, the borderland is home to thousands of young people growing up in some of the most economically challenging conditions in the country. Most have never left the city. Never seen a sky full of stars. Never had a week away from hard circumstances to breathe, reflect, and imagine something different for their lives.
Aspendale Mountain Retreat Center exists to change that.
Every summer, we host camps for borderland youth—keeping our costs low and fundraising year-round so that no kid is turned away because of what their family can't afford. Camp is also where kids learn to lead. Through our summer internship program, high school and college-age youth from across the region step into real leadership roles for the very first time.
WILL YOU HELP US GET THEM THERE?
A full week at Aspendale—lodging, meals, activities, staff, and facilities—costs $500 per person. Every gift directly offsets that cost for a borderland kid.
